Principal's Corner

Born and raised in Concord, N.H., I attended schools in our community Kindergarten through grade 12. Inspired early on by the teachers in our district, I attended the University of New Hampshire graduating with a dual major in Elementary Education and Communication Disorders, followed  by a M.Ed.  from Northeastern University. I began teaching in the Concord School District in 1979. Over the years, it has been my privilege to teach preschool, serve the district as a Speech/Language Pathologist and Special Education Coordinator at the preschool and elementary levels as well as at Concord High School. I returned to UNH completing the CAGS program in Educational Leadership and Supervision in 1994.

Since 2003, I have had the amazing opportunity to lead the Broken Ground School Community as its principal. During these years we have kept our focus on our mission of learning for all - aspiring for excellence!  We have embraced the ever-increasing diversity of our school population and created a positive school culture for all children.  My leadership style has been to recruit and  hire the very best educators and support staff possible and then to facilitate a collaborative, dynamic learning environment for students and staff alike. Broken Ground School has a rich history of promoting strong connections with families and helping students develop a passion for learning to reach their goals and ultimately to become active members of their school and the larger Concord community.
