Broken Ground School Opens New Food Pantry to Support Local Families

October 9, 2025, Broken Ground School proudly celebrated the grand opening of its new on-site food pantry, made possible through the generous support of NH Hunger Solutions, Capital Area Food Access, and the NH Food Bank. Representatives from each organization joined school/district staff and community members to mark this important milestone in the school's ongoing commitment to supporting students and families.
For the past five years, dedicated faculty members from both Broken Ground and Mill Brook Schools have operated mobile food markets twice a month, bringing essential groceries directly into our neighborhoods. This initiative, led by teachers Liz (BGS) and Matt Finney (MBS), has been a lifeline for many families in need.
The new pantry was funded through two generous grants—one from NH Hunger Solutions and another from Hannaford Supermarkets—and will allow the school to expand its support by offering healthy snacks to students throughout the day and providing consistent access to food for families.
“We are incredibly thankful for the support of our partners and everyone who has donated time, effort, or materials,” said Principal Kyle Repucci. “This pantry is a testament to the power of community and the dedication of our staff.”
Broken Ground School extends heartfelt thanks to all who made this possible and looks forward to continuing its mission of care and support for every student.
