BGS Reading Team Attends K–8 Literacy Summit 2.0

We’re thrilled to share that our Reading Specialist and Title I Tutors recently attended the K–8 Literacy Summit 2.0: Strengthening Reading and Writing for All Learners, thanks to support from our Title I grant. This dynamic and collaborative event brought together educators, leaders, and literacy advocates from across the region to explore innovative strategies and research-based practices that elevate literacy instruction for every student.
Building on the success of the inaugural summit, this year’s gathering focused on inclusive approaches to developing strong readers and confident writers. Through interactive workshops and collaborative learning experiences, our team gained valuable insights into effective reading and writing instruction tailored to diverse learners.
Featured speakers included nationally recognized experts such as Dr. Stephanie Stollar, founder of the Reading Science Academy; Alexandra Klove Stout, an instructional leader specializing in equitable literacy practices; Dr. Leslie Laud, a researcher and author focused on writing instruction; Dr. Katy Cortelyou, a literacy coach and interventionist; and Liz Cannon, Director of Curriculum and Accountability in SAU 39 and creator of Literacy Leaders, NH.
We’re excited to see how our educators will apply what they’ve learned to support and inspire the students they serve. Together, we continue our journey toward literacy excellence for every child.
